Cure for loose Balls?

Here's a question. The balls in both ends of my 730s 3 point hitch arms are looser than I would like them. I know there is the option to buy new arms, But I was wondering if anyone has tried to take a little slice out of one side with the bandsaw, heat the other side up with a torch and beat the slice closed to tighten the ball socket and weld it closed. I realize the 2 radius will not match exactly, but it has to be closer than the sloppy things I have now.
Similar to wearing tighter underwear!

What you suggest with the cut and tighten is very feasible my uncle did it to my fathers lift arms on a 40S several times over the years. The tractor was bought new in 1953 and still has the original lift arms on it, but they have many repairs and war wounds. You have to be careful not to get the ball involved in the welding though.
