4630 breakaway leaks

How difficult are these to rebuild ?? Mine leaks down past the lever not out the back past the quad ring and backup washer. I know the freeze plug needs driven out then access to the lever is easily done. Also on my 8970 the cable operates fine but the control only operates in certain positions.

They are not bad to reseal but the o-rings from Deere are not good enough, I use a Quad ring with a solid back up ring on the barrels and little levers, these work much better along with making sure the barrel ends are not beat up from hitch pins and hammers knocking them forward, if there is a rough place on them it will plow a furrow through the new seal as you go back together, have a couple new E-clips ready, it's easy to bend them up as you go back together. I f you want to send them to me I can go through them completely and re-calibrate them with a bench test, I do 6-8 of them a week here.

My 4630 is my planting tractor and the box constantly drips even when not any hoses plugged into it so I need to repair this one for sure after today when the weather will not allow any planting. Most Deere dealers do not have the guys around that used to repair these all the time , I hate to say this but younger parts changers now and I really do not like saying that.
