I Have a john deere 2640 I just replaced the radiator and went out to buy antifreeze. I was told that as long as it is green then it will work for that tractor. I purchased some I believe its car quest brand. it is green and low silicate. I haven't used it yet just some concerns. If anyone can tell me if its ok to use I would appreciate it. thanks

Also pick up some additive to prevent liner cavitation and mix in with it. Wix cool is one brand name. NAPA sells it as does JD and most any heavy truck place.

Bought some I-forget-the-name from OReilly's, and it said it made the engine run cooler. I thought yeah yeah. But by golly it did, it ran probable 10F to 15F cooler. Impressed.

thanks for the replies. I am not going to put the antifreeze I bought in the tractor. I think I am going to go to John Deere and just purchase there antifreeze to be safe.
