Please help identifying this tractor model. (Long post)

Hello. Please help us identify this JD tractor model. This is a tractor we use at my work and has been repainted years ago without anyone replacing the needed decals. It could be one of many but we would like to narrow it down as much as possible. I tried running the numbers with the local JD dealer with no help. It is a John Deere model made around the late 60's early seventies. Some say it might be anywhere from a 1020 to a 1520. (Quite a spread there but they look similar.) The numbers on the rear differential tag are 4R1H 1041481. The engine is a 3 cylinder gas with tag numbers M41TR 158774T (Very visible on both tags) The exhaust runs out the back and has a high/low on the dash (rabbit/aturtle)with 2 shift levers with high and low ranges. Deferential lock, three point with a 2 way hydraulic remote. I believe it has a 10 gallon gas tank, or very close to it. MAYBE 12 if topped off tight. Wide front end with power adjust rims. Pto lever is on the left side of transmission. Split clutch for live power to shift. I found an casting number on the engine which reads T26934 with a "D" behind it. I'm assuming the "D" is Dubuque? WE would appreciate any and all help. It sure seems funny that the JD dealer could not come up with these numbers somewhere in the data base. The numbers are quite legible on the tags unless one or two are omitted somehow. I can get more info if needed. Right now we need to order seals or o rings, bushings, for the governor. It likes to leak a lot more now somewhere hidden between the engine and one side of the governor. Possible o ring on the shaft? Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you for now.

Tractor in question is an industrial model "300"

Tx Jim, Is it possible that this engine (block) would be used in other tractors? I will be posting pics of the tractor on
Friday. Thank you for your response. I will be looking for this tractor online in the meantime.

Been doing some checking online on the images. It looks like it might me a 1020. It definitely is not a 300 industrial. I wonder if the same engine was used in the 1020? More checking.......

Why do you say it is not a 300? A 300 is the industrial model of the 1020 and there were very few differences. If you are going by the hood and front end of the 300 most were ordered with a hard nose but you could get the same metal as the ag tractors as well.Or you could have a 1020 that someone installed 300 parts from.Tom

Performing a "where used search" on JDparts.com using the block part number AT24998 that lists the casting # T26934 in it's parts description the only model that appears is the "model 300". Casting #s don't appear in JD part number searches because in reality they are not part numbers.

Ditto what Tom stated about 1020/300 sheet mettal.

From the 1020 service manual and using the first digits of your tractor serial number:
4 1020 series
R RU
1 Gasoline Engine
H Collar Shift Transmission with Hi/Lo

From the engine tag:
M Engine
4 3 cylinder
T Dubuque
R RU model
156774 Actual serial number
T Dubuque Tractor Works

I guess that is possible. It just looked very identical to the 1020 in the online images. Is it then possible to have ordered the 300 with 1020 sheet metal? I know that they have not been replaced or the engine. It is used by the State of Mn. so it very well could have been an 300 industrial. No records of the description anywhere. It is green in color and has always been green. They used to paint them yellow many years ago, but this one had been green all its life according to some older folks that remember it. They just couldn't recall the model number, and the ones that would have remembered are long gone. I will post pics of it tomorrow evening when I get the chance. Thanks for your input!
