Yep. I believe those came out on the 50 series. One of my relatives has a IH 5488 with FWD and it took 40 acres to turn around.

A short turning radius with front-wheel assist and the tires set for 30" rows was a challenge before tractors were specifically designed around the front drive system rather than have it just added on to an existing chassis. The "caster action" design of the Deere allowed the wheels to lean over as they turned which let the inside wheel tuck under the frame and gain a few more degrees of steering angle. It was a very simple design (just rotate the kingpins back) that served the purpose well. It would not have allowed running front duals but this practice wasn't being done by any manufacturer on FWA tractors back then so it was not a problem.

It took the red tractors untill the mx series to make a tractor with mfwd that would turn half decent the old magnum wasn't bad but it didn't want to turn even standing on the individual brake
