Working on a d that appears to be sort of rebuilt years ago. Pulled the head since valves stuck and cleaned up guides. While its of want to check valve seat by doing a quick lap job. How can I easily spin the valves to make sure I get good seating? All my drops are only 1/2" chucks and short of trying to disco with my fingers on the valves, what's the easiest way? I don't have a shop within 50 miles that has equipment big enough for this monster. Ideas?

Put a spring of some sort under the valve to help lift it up off the seat. Makes it easier to use the suction cup on top or push down with one hand and spin as you spin the stem.

Just an idea but Im thinking of a dewalt power tool with a rubber mandral attached to it that takes them
spin on biscuts that you remove gaskets with. Leave the biscut off.
not sure if it will have enough rubber on it to get enough friction to grab the big valve or not, but I
deffinately know I couldnt do it by hand with a suction cup. way to hard on my wrists. the dewalt has farward
and reverse so it should work great.
good luck and let us know how you make out. I got one I should do this summer also.

I new a old man that was about 80 that was lapping valves one day when I stopped to see him. He had a cut off bolt in his drill with a hose clamped to it and slipped the hose on the valve stem. It worked good.
