Investigator II problems

JD 4450 MFWD with Investigator II monitoring system has a recurring intermittent problem. Worked fine all summer, today all gauges are out again, like its done for the last year or so. Hi beam indicator light comes one when turning the key on- that means the system is not working. I've added an extra ground wire to the system, but do nothing to get the system to work- it chooses to that on its own. Any ideas what causes this?
 
if your talking about what i think you are, they do that, the grounds in the lcd display gets loose, not repairable, needs a new $1000 display
 
There's also a multiconnector under the hood just in front of the windshield in that area that can cause this trouble, the one we had trouble with, with the hood up you could pull or push on the connector and the dash would come on and go off. We had to replace the terminals in this plug as they were worn. Although this was come think of it was 4555 but maybe similar, would sure be worth looking into.

I now have problems with the investigator monitor on my 4450, and connected a ground to the ground wire in the pin connector, behind the monitor....this didn't help. My monitor gives different results based on how many times, or how fast you flip the ignition switch. Is there a tell-tale sign that the monitor is junk? Thanks!

Question for powertech84: I now have problems with the investigator monitor on my 4450, and connected a ground to the ground wire in the pin connector, behind the monitor....this didn't help. My monitor gives different results based on how many times, or how fast you flip the ignition switch. Based on your experience, is there a tell-tale sign that the monitor is junk? Thanks!
