Van Sickle yellow paint

Has anyone used Van Sickle yellow paint. I was wondering how good it is and how good of a match it is between JD paint. I used TSC yellow before and it was lighter in color. I was going to paint my wheels and my local farm supply has Van Sickle and thought about using it . My JD dealer is 30 miles away and if it was any good it would save me a trip.

I have used Van Sickle paint and like it. It is a good quality paint, flows and brushes on real nice. If you use a good quality brush you won't even see brush marks. It doesn't fade and covers nice. I would recommend it.

This is Van Sickle yellow on my 60 wheels.

If you are spraying ( I use an HVLP Gun ) plan on doing several coats.

I have 2 coats of their Flat Grey primer, and usually 3ish coats of Yellow. Do the first one really light, let it get really tacky, and then LAY IT ON. Not so much that it runs, but, thick none the less. I think it is good quality paint, and as said, it does go on nice, and looks nice when it is done, but, typical to yellow, it doesn't coat very well.

Just plan on doing a couple of coats WITH HARDENER, and you will be fine! ;)

My excperience with the IHC red version was that it sprayed on perfectly, covered perfectly, but did not quite match the IHC red color. Close, but no cigar. Slightly wrong. The real deal killer was that every piece I painted developed a white film over several months, just sitting in the barn, not exposed to the sun. Every piece, I had sandblasted and primed and painted as perfectly as I could. It was very objectionable. I then went with the actual Case-IHC red, I like it a lot. Your experience may differ, with green and yellow.

I would go to the dealer and get the John Deere Paint. I wouldn't paint a rock with VanSickle paint.
