I bought a 5200 4x4,the seat on is so slick I cant stay in it.Ive tried lacker thiner and other solvents and it wont help,I think that the guy I bought it from must have put armorall or some thing on it,plus it is hard. I even tried to use sand paper on it.anty thoughts what to do? also what should the length of the top link be. thanks bob

get a rosin bag from sports store and pat it down before use. Shouldn't need to do it more than 3-4 times and it will probably come out of it. Don't wear "Sunday" cloths first few times.

Regarding center link length. it will vary depending on what implement is attached and how you want it adjusted. There is no set "correct" length that works for all purposes. However, as you adjust it, be sure to use the threaded coupling that's in the center of the link. That way the threaded rod won't unexpectedly come out of one end. Even before you use the hitch, you should check to see that the previous owner didn't get the coupling off center. If you find it off center, adjust the rod in one end or the other, maybe both, as needed, to even up the threaded rods. Refer to the operator's manual. If you don't have one, get it!

Thanks Leon I know that you adjust to the imp.but they make different length top links for different model tractors! Yes the seatbelt is to be used with ROPs,but also it would not be comfortable reacted down to the seat . I'm 58 years old and I started pulling a rake when I was 12 so I'm no newbe to tractors, Ihave also made my living running heavy equipment ! ,but I try not to forget about safety and sliding around in a seat is not safe.I am about to use du tape. Thanks for the replays. I have not been to this site other for browsing for quite a while,I had to renege steer under anew name, I joined here I think it was back in the lat 90s or early 2000s, y'all have a great day. Bob

If nothing else $ 200.00 will get you a new seat.

Are you in Ohio ? I got an old one on my 5105 I'd trade you if they are the same.
