Good morning gentlemen. Its been quite awhile since I have used this forum. Aging has it problems as we all know, but I have been able to get a 1937 D running this winter. It will join my John Deere collection of a 38 B hand start, unstyled of course, a 39 A hand start styled, and a 1943 AO unstyled electric start.
My question is what the current thinking is about motor and gear oil for this tractor. It will not get much real use, just a parade or two and hopefully a couple of antique tractor pulls. I'm thinking heavy gear oil for the transmission and rear end gear boxes and 20W50 for the engine. I'm thinking of doing this on all four on the above tractors when I next service them.
Any and all thoughts appreciated.
Thanks in advance from Norm 43 out in cold and snowy Utah.
