Yesterday I was using my 2011 JD 4520 compact utility to move snow with front loader and rear back blade. Everything worked perfect , got all the neighbors and myself cleaned out . Took a break for a few minutes ,shut tractor off ,came out started the tractor and the lever for the 3 point would only go back about 2/3 of the way up and the blade would not go up at all.I can get the lever to go all the way up now .Oil level is also good. I checked the cable and the lever on the side of the rockshaft and everything is working. I also checked the draft control to see if that got turned in or out, no luck .Any ideas on what may have happened ? the shaft going into the rockshaft is moving with the lever. Also my hydro and loader work fine. Thanks for any input.

Most tractors have an adjustment procedure to adjust the lift height of the arms so they stop just short of going into relief valve. I would start by checking this adjustment. Hopefully the owners manuals still show this.

I was hoping it was water or ice but it wasn't . I got it in the shop this AM and let it warm up most of the day. I printed off the parts diagram for the control lever and rockshaft. I pulled the rockshaft off and found that a small bolt came out that holds the lever assembly inside. I was lucky that the bolt did not get ground up in the differential. I got the bolt out with a magnet , and no damage to it. Its all back together and it works. Thanks for the help.

Did you use locktite on it so it can't come out again ? That sure was weird it came out after all these years ? Maybe not many hours.

yes I cleaned the bolts and housing with brake clean ,let it dry and used green locktite. The tractor has 377 hrs on it . Thanks
