Early B kerosene

This is a weird question but just curious to see what people say. I have read about people running the B on kero but curious about jet fuel. I have done some reading about kerosene and jet fuel and seem to be a lot alike but have some different additives. Any one ever tried it? Also wandering what people think about running them on kerosene?

A couple years ago I was plowing with my 1945 A and ran it for awhile on kerosene, couldn't tell any difference in power,it was like setting at the supper table when I was a kid smelling the alladin lamp. The gallon of kerosene cost me 10.00.Ron

Ron is right. Kerosene is much too pricey, but that's what they were designed to use. I borrowed a working three way valve and ran my 35 B with it. It was really smooth and sounded better, but just too much hassle as my B will never work hard again. I don't think there's much difference between kerosene and jet fuel or #1 diesel. Just had to try it, Have fun!

Kerosene is a little cheaper now. Local fuel supplier has K-1 available at a serve yourself pump for
$3.95.9/gallon. Bought ten gallon this week. I needed a couple gallon for my parts washer and some for my
torpedo heater. I run non-ethanol gas in my tractors that costs about $1.65.9/gallon.

Jet fuel is essentially 75% Kerosene & 25% Gasoline. Obviously the additives are different. #1 fuel oil is just #1 Diesel without all the additives & taxed differently.

I once ran a D, while plowing, on 75% No.2 diesel and 25% gasoline. Ran and pulled great.
These old tractors were actually designed to run on distillate, no kerosene. What the exact difference is I'm not sure.

My father in laws dad used to run a blend of half gas and half diesel in his tractors, they called it tractor fuel.
