John Deere 4010 hydraulics

I recently replaced the load shaft bushings and seals on my 1961 4010 while doing so I changed the oil and used Deere hyguard and changed the filter using a Deere one I replaced the oring at the filter and when starting it for the first time it started leaking at the filter I know I have it plenty tight. My question is is this a common issue on these or is there to much pressure or what did I do wrong I've also replaced the main pump but I do not think that is causing this

Some times you need to tap the bowl side to side as you tighten it to get it seated,, loosen it up and try again.

A couple of things:

If the cup didn't seat correctly, it could have cut the gasket.

Also, make sure you have the right gasket. I believe you should have R39596, same as the first year 4020. Later 4020s and a lot of other later tractors used R37433 which looks the same but will leak if
installed in the older tractors.

good luck.
