'60' fuel guage

Just wondering if anyone has made a measuring stick for the 60 fuel tank. Don't really need one, but it is a PITA to get on a step stool and use a flashlight. I envision making a bunch and giving them to 60 owners (mailing cost not included). Thoughts?

I have a 620 with a brand new fuel gauge. I have a brand new fuel sending unit still in the box. Works great LOL. But, I have a paint mixing paddle in the tool tray. Around two inches of gas on the stick is roughly five gallons worth. This is what I use. One day I will install the sending unit.

If this works, here is a picture of my "custom made fuel gauge".

Several years ago I purchased some wood slats about 1/4" thick by 3/4" wide. I cut them to length, drilled a small hole in one end to put a loop of wire through to hang them on the tractors. I keep one on each tractor. (yes, on my 60 too)

Somebody makes new gauges that are in the gas cap with the indicator on top. Every time I see one I think I need to get one but here I am still using a stick....

I carry a hammer in the tractor tool box. I use the hammer handle for a measuring stick.

I see the measuring stick on the hood by the cap. I also see a lot of material to build many more for all of us ! LOL.

Dang! That looks almost IDENTICAL to the one I keep on my '38 WC flat top! Chunk of an Iron Weed stalk that lays across the frame just in front of the shifter tower! Been there fer years! I'd though of getting a patent for it but looks like I might late with the idea! Thanks for the humor!

Later.

I have some kind or other on most of mine. It helps to have a branch with a little curve in it so it will bind in between the caps. Like someone else said, there is an endless supply of those around.

My question would be if I change from 6v to 12v battery would I need to replace the gauge or just put the big end in the tank first.

Maybe I should get the Manual and check this out :) :p
