I must be getting older.

It dawned on me as I was driving through town with my 30 year old plus farmhand feedmill pulled by my 2510 gas ps that we bought as a demonstrator when I was in high school, that all of this stuff and I am getting old. The tractor is over 50 years old, how the heck did that happen. Maybe that is why I was thinking maybe I should put new tires on the old girl. Just because they are smooth and have cracks you can put your finger in, they still hold air. I still cut all my hay with the old bugger. The worst of it is, it may be the oldest user I have but not by much. I keep thinking I should give it a heart transplant but then I wondered has anyone ever put a turbo on a JD gasser. I know they have them for old olivers, ac's, farmalls but what about JD's. Might give her a boost for the next 50 years or maybe 20.

I know a 2510 gas powershift is rare but if it were mine I would drop in a 219 or 239 diesel engine. You will be so impressed with how it performs. When my 2510 diesel needed overhauled I put in a 219 out of an aircompressor and it will just about run side by side with our three 3020 diesels. It sometimes makes you think how old and how many hours are on some of the equipment we make our living with.Other than the cab on the newer tractors there is nothing I like to operate better than the 2510,3020's and 4020's we have.
