4840 hyd light

Looking at a 4840 that has the hydraulic light coming on. Supposedly replaced the filter and light stays on. Any ideas or should I run?

Check the pressure at the test port with a gauge to see if it is within "spec" and the sender is lying or there's a wiring issue, or an actual oil pressure issue.

(I'm gonna GUESS the light you are seeing is actually monitoring clutch operating pressure, NOT sure, offhand, if there's a lube pressure warning tied in on the 40's, as well.)

Also, if the pressure IS low, in addition to the hydraulic filter that's been replaced, there's a suction screen at the bottom of the transmission that may be clogged with debris from failing brakes (NOT good), other debris, or ice crystals is there's moisture in the oil and the tractor is in below-freezing temps.
