Installing an Alternator instead of generator

I have an "A" that originally has a generator. I have a good single wire alternator i want to put on it. Whats the set up? Connect the output straight to the battery? The "A" is set up with a positive ground - Do I need to change because the Alternator produces only +12 vdc ???

That is really the only problem I am looking at. Lights don't care which way the current flows! The Ammeter is no problem no matter which way I go. Looking for a suggestion or two!

Wire go's to the amp gauge and then to battery. Switch the amp wires to the other side as well as the coil wires and battery cables.

It will need to be switched to neg ground. Like M-man said switch the amp wires, coil wires and bat cables.
