4430 Front Windows

Someone did a little target shooting on the front windows of my 4430. You can imagine it kinda made me sick when I went out to the barn. How difficult is it to replace these?

Thanks!
Rich

Replacing door window & windshield is very similar to replacing older auto windshields. The rubber seal has a locking channel. IIRC the person that installed windshield in a previously owned 4240 utilized a small rope to install windshield with the rubber seal.

On the difficulty scale it's somewhere between making microwave popcorn and teaching your dog to read.
I think if you google the windshield rope trick or something similar you'll find a video that may help. You'll need at least two people. If insurance is paying for it, get new seals. The old ones are probably hard by now and new ones will make it somewhat easier.

I always had trouble with them,, guess I don't do enough of them to get good at it,, I call my windshield guy, he will stop by after hours and make it look simple...

Thanks everyone! I got the glass ordered today and will see how things look when I remove
the shattered pieces.

Used to do them by myself all the time.
Use a not sharp narrow screwdriver or similar tool.
Unzip the moulding (keep wet with spray window cleaner).
That will allow the seal to open to receive the glass.
Slide the tool around the glass working it into the seal (keeping it wet).
Use the same tool to zip the seal back together (keeping it wet).

That is the easiest way to install them, but I use a cotter key tool (screwdriver handle with a 90 degree hook on the end). I find the bent end easier to 'zip' than with a screwdriver. Used seals will be ok if they are pliable. In my experience, used seals are easier to install as they have taken a set to the glass. The last upper door glass I put in took about 10 minutes to install alone.
