Mannhiem 3130 hydraulic woes

I have a 1978 3130 that i purchased from my uncle 20 years ago, it had 3100 hrs on it, now it has 5750 hrs on it.Lately the hydraulics have been giving me problems, 3pth shivers on its way up, remotes are also slow, the main front pump also has slight knocking sound when operating. When the tractor is worked for hours,it loses all hydraulic function, has no steering and no lift at 3pth. If you go back next day and start it up,all functions return but at reduced levels like before.I have been changing hydraulic filters and oils lately but has not helped, anyways i talked to a retired JD mechanic who worked on these tractors, his comment was the inboard break pads are causing the problem, they are disolving and getting into the hydraulic oil and plugging filters and fine mesh and contaminating the whole system. This is what is causing the shivering he claims, anybody have this problem?Thx for any comments in advance.....john

Yes,, there is a good chance that is happening,, drain the trans oil and pull the sump screen to have a look...

There are several things including deteriorating brake pads that cause hyd pump cavitation. Have you check frt hyd coupler for worn bushings? With 3 pt raised engine running look in hyd filler hole behind seat for spraying oil. The tubes that supply hyd oil too hyd hi-lo & ind pto have a long history of failure together with their sealing washers. Is tractor equipped with a frt end loader? If so what type valve controls it(scv or ind)?

I would also check for a leak in the rockshaft valve that can be seen by looking in through the hydraulic oil filler hole toward the front and right of the rockshaft housing.
If you see oil spraying/dripping here it is a relativly easy repair. This kit (AL57974) is NOT in the 3130 catalog but should work and it makes it easier than a whole list of parts.
Are you in Canada?

Do you have an easy method to R&R rockshaft housing on cab tractors without removing cab?

If he has the Sekura European cab. You can do it without removing the cab. I did it on a 3040 with a Sekura, and and it is almost the same tractor.
I used a forklift with the forks under the rockshaft arms. Lift a little bit, disconnect load sensing, and pulled back. (you can not lift high enough to make the load control clear, so you have to remove a little arm0.

Ya went and purchased new bushings for the front and discovered the existing bushings were just fine
