830 transmission oil pump removal

I'm having difficulty removing the pipe plug out of the transmission oil pump cover R1056R. Will need heat or other means, so I would like to drop the pump. Does anyone have any experience with this and if so, what do I need to look out for. It looks like I remove the three bolts it should drop straight down. Also, what about taking the oil sump cover c2175r and the screen out. Will I be able to get the oil intake tube back into place. I want to avoid coming in from the top of the transmission.

IF I remember correctly, the transmission pump is pretty easy. Unbolt and remove. While it's out take a good look and make sure it's in decent shape. My 80's pump was so shelled out it didn't pump at all.

The sump screen is easy, but getting the intake pipe back in is NOT fun. I have done it, it takes quite a bit of messing around and holding your tongue just right. I did both from the bottom without opening anything else up.

Just thought I would close the loop. I was able to remove the cover plate on the transmission oil pump, apply heat to the plug until it came loose. Inspected the pump gears and reinstalled with a new gasket. Now removal of the new plug with a steady stream of oil while running ensures that pump is working.
