I Pulled the injectors today to install new ones. the new ones don't have tube nuts on them do you have to pull the tops off the injectors to remove or install them?
One of the injectors nylon seals was burnt through. do I need to remove the head to clean the injector tube?

Clean the injector bore with a 3/8 inch drill bit. The injector has two seals, top one next to the banjo is the compression seal, the lower one is a carbon dam seal that keeps diesel carbon from sticking the injector in the head. It WILL blow IF the top compression seal does not hold, make sure the spring clamps on top of the locating strap are all there and none broken. The top return nut will come off after the 17721 seal inside is removed from the nut first. Don't remove any top injector adjusting hardware as they need reset if removed on an injector stand.
