Bought a power unit engine today 6404dr-20 block # R59850 wanted to know if I can put this in a 4010 and what I will have to change to make it work

Yes it will fit if it has holes in frt of block to bolt hyd pump mounting bracket. You need to change water pump & fuel control linkage.Tim S has installed several so maybe he will enlighten you. I located you engine casting #(R59850) in this parts catalog

what starter and alternator will work on this engine as did not come with would like to hear it run before installing in tractor

R59850 is one block casting listed in 4230 parts catalog. Block should fit 4010 with a few minor changes. I think your 4010 starter will fit. Maybe Tim or some other tech will reply

sorry forgot to say I am converting tractor to 12 volt so I have to get all new stuff including wiring harness mine is in pieces

You can get a 12 volt changeover kit from this site.
You can probably get a wiring harness from Agriservices
