other day purchased a 310a johndeere backhoe, no welds no breaks any were pins tight and nice looking machine for a 1980 model,previous owner had it over hauled and when he tried to use it after a while started to blow the dip stick out, when it get warmed up, let it cool down and it will run for a little while then do it again, was not able to get it to start when looking at it, Just wonder what you guys thought was making it do that. Not to worried can part it out for about three times what i paid for it, even if the engine is a total wipe out. Thanks

Sounds as if too much compression is getting by piston rings due to one or more broken rings or possible hole in piston

Make sure the valve cover breather hose is unrestricted...before you go any farther...
