Purchased a 1950 A from an uncle in Nov 2011. Have been working on it as time and money allow. I am 4 years into this project that I figured would not take this long, but life gets in the way of hobbies. I have been a member of the Two cylinder forum for awhile and thought I would join this one also. Have been reading as many posts on the A as I can to learn as much as I can about them. I am not new to tractors, just new to JD two cylinders.

Good job. Im in the same boat as you. I bought a 48A and been into it 2 1/2 years now. Maybe I finish it by spring. Like you said too many in life projects and too much over time got me behind. Should of been done with it a long time ago but that's life.

Just keep whittling away at it. Looks like it has really nice original tin work and not any non-factory paint jobs to strip off. No one ever puts the decals back on correctly on these late "A",s and "B",s so I would say it is in "original" cloths because they are correct. Do some measuring and pics before stripping blasting sheet metal. Should be a nice one when done. keep posting progress pics.
