I have never had a 3010-4010 type but I see all the time mentioned about open or closed center hydrolicks. I do not understan them but my question is witch would be like the A & B'tractors that I had. Open or closed on the 2 cylinders?

Open center. The oil is constantly moving through the hydraulic system,unlike a closed center system where the oil is only pumped as it is needed with priority to the steering and brakes

Open centre---full flow, zero pressure when not in use

Closed centre---zero flow, full pressure when not in use, kinda like the water pressure system in your house

Simplified explanation that describes most systems.

OK so they should be opencenter and I suppose all the 2 cylinder tractors as well? Also the letter series Farmalls and what about the number series Farmalls?

2 cylinders would be considered an open center type while the 3010/4010 is closed center.

Letter series Farmall would be open center, as would a 300 400 series, I do not know about the bigger ones.
