1935 model A gear oil

I need to know the transmission fluid capacity for this thing. Also, this tractor will barely be used so what weight oil do I use? My local dealer said 80w-90 but they didn't even know how much it takes so I don't trust them. I've read that all modern oils are now yellow metal safe so using them shouldn't be an issue like it used to be.

Thank you for your quick response. I know they used GL1 140 from the factory but isn't there something more modern-(better easier to find) I can use?

Hardly any modern gear oils are yellow metal friendly. If you don't want to use GL1 have your local oil company order you some 60wt motor oil.

Or an owners manual.

I will agree with the 7 gal. figure. I know later A's were but wasn't sure an unstyled was too.
I know 5 gal will just do the B's and if working on an A I buy 2 of them.
