wanted to buy winch for 350 JD

Couldn't find parts for the two JD winches we own, so now we are shopping for a winch for a 350 JD. New enough we can get parts since this has been our problem. Hyd. would be nice.

When I bought my 350D in Westboro Me from METCO back in 1992, they had a used winch up in their Bangor store that bolted right on and it has been a good winch for our woodlot operation. Has its own oil filter for its hydraulic system. As I remember back then it cost about $2500 and I got a service manual for which is excellent. Mine is a John Deere winch. You have to do a lot of looking around to find a good one these days.

I wouldn't need to shop if I could find a way to repair the existing seal that split. Last made in 1970. I am patient and will keep looking but.would prefer a new seal.

If old one is good enough to measure
try a parts store or bearing house

We tried a Hyd. store but the product was to solid.

If you can salvage your old seal without destroying it , there is a place in Florida that makes seals. I don't recall the name. A really good hydraulic repair shop might also be able to have it done got you.
