Cables seized

The cables on my j.d. 2010 model that run from the dash to the rear, for adjusting the lift arms are seized. I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for freeing these cables up!

Buy a new one or remove the cable and soak it in penetrating oil and work it loose. Most likely the rubber boots on the cable ends are worn out allowing moisture to get into the cable

Make sure you are sitting down when you ask the price of a new one. Checked on one for ours 3 years ago it was $369.00, found a used one on ebay for $120.

New cables, AT13231, are about $190 each from DEERE.

Aftermarket, about $40 less.

Well I saw one that they bypassed the cable and just made a lever extension and bolted it on to the rockshaft control lever.
It worked.

Thanks guys for your feed back! Iam going try soaking them in a penetrating oil first! Then if that doesn't work I will just use Mikes suggestion. Thanks again guys for your time on this matter.

The cable on our 4020 was getting pretty stiff. I soaked it in my parts washer for awhile and then rigged it up in a drill chuck so I could spin it and work it back and forth. That really freed it up. Oiled it good and it's still working good after many years.

Thanks Mike I will give it a go!,,Appreciate your time.

I was hauling with my dump truck this spring when the PTO cable got sticky. I used PB blaster and spray cable lube on both ends, it didn't take long until it was moving easy again.
