DRAINING COOLANT/ANTIFREEZE

In pre 1950 2 cylinder JDs, is it best to drain antifreeze for long-term winter storage or leave in at adequate concentration?
Does draining the cooling system via plug on bottom of lower water pipe empty all water jackets, ports, channels, etc?

Thanks

I would leave good antifreeze/coolant in them.

There's only ONE drain plug, which drains everything.

As long as the antifreeze is strong enough not to freeze leave it in. If you drain it the gaskets will dry out. Head gasket, and rad. core gaskets might start leaking later on. If you do drain one you must leave the drain plug out because more will run down there in time and if it is water the bottom of the head will bust when the extra freezes.

My three JD 'D's', One JD "520",and the other six Fergusons have 50/50 mix and I never drain the coolant. Neighbour drained his 35 MF only to have coolant leaks in the spring....GASKETS on the THERMOSTST housing and water pump. Each to their own.....I never drain coolant in the fall that is tested at -40F with a HYDOMETER.
