JD 4430 oil cooler

I have a 4430 with 4 post canopy, no AC. I need to replace the hydraulic/tranny oil cooler on it and the single type cooler I have is no longer available. All I can find new or used is the double cooler that also has the AC condenser in it. If I get the double one, will it slide into the brackets for the single one that I have or do I need to make modifications?

Hard to believe you can't find one used.
Have you tried Worthingtons? Any salvage in
the south should be able to help you.
If they don't have it they can do a search for you.

It's not hard for me to believe hyd oil cooler with no condenser is difficult to locate. It would be interesting to know % of 30 series rowcrop tractors built without a SGB(cab) but I'll bet it is small

That would be interesting to know. I know we sold several especially the first year or so.
If you look on Tractor House there are always a bunch of non-SGB tractors listed. All sizes
from 4030 thru 4630. Perhaps they didn't get scrapped as much as cab tractors? Though the fenders
would rust and settle down on open station tractors.

Thanks, have not tried Worthingtons, have tried All State Ag. Guy at the local JD dealer looked the cooler I have up and said they stopped
production of that cooler in 1977. If I'm not mistaken this was around the tail end of 4430 model. He told me I needed the double cooler
brackets and also would need longer hoses to connect. Given that they stopped producing this thing so early on I just couldn't imagine them
not making the coolers interchangeable. Sounds like thats the way it is if the bracket part numbers are the same.

It's possible the bracket part numbers in current parts catalog haven't been updated to reflect what your local parts person stated.
