after all the posts I've read here and over on the pulling forums, I am needing a great source for a set of .125 over pistons for my freshly bored late styled G block. I am assuming high compression aluminum ones are the answer but I am having a hard time locating them from a reputable source. I don't intend to pull her, just wanted to make it bark a little more than stock since the cylinders needed cleaned up that much. I also ported out the head a little to match the manifold. Nothing extreme, just looking for the piston set and trying to match up a head gasket since the bore job.

The cam and followers will be worn. This would be the time to have them ground to match the Pistons and head/port work.

6.5:1 Compression should make your "G" a 4-Plow tractor..that is about what GASOLINE Only pistons would give you..
That also is about all 87 Octane Gas will stand in your "G"..
A New Cam, with improved Valve events will also complement you work nicely..!

Be sure you have the right clearance 1.5 per in off bore sounds like a lot but it is needed if not enouf you will know it when it locks up and scores the new pistons
I believe Hinrichs stated 12,000ths when we spoke on the phone yesterday. Said they would ship the info with the pistons and I will ensure the machine shop gets it to finish honing the cylinders properly. Nice people to help me out when I called. Thanks for the referral. Great reminder on the cam/followers-so I am going to make the trip to Denglers next week and try their services out. Since I'm not pulling her or going extreme with the rebirth, I am leaving the stock rockers on and stock 51 big nut carb along with the oil bath cleaner. When I get her back together, I am definately going to find some dyno time to see where she is sitting at fer kicks n giggles.
