Please reference the picture included. It is of the float bowl. The question I have is should there be a jet in the hole in the lower portion of the picture. There is two jets in the upper portion of the carburetor is this correct?

Thanks for the link. I looked at the site
and it appears one jet, item 48, goes into
the bowl and one jet, item 24, goes into
the upper portion. This is not the way the
carburetor I have is set up. Both jets
were in the upper portion and none in the
bowl.

Which type carb do you have ? A,B or C ?
The two jets in the top you are referring to are the jet idle and jet-economizer. Not all carbs have the jet-economizer or the power jet. The power jet if used can be either under the main jet screwed in from the top of the bowl or in the hole at the bottom of your picture in the type A/B carbs. C carbs have the main jet screwed in from the bottom of the bowl and the power jet would be in the hole at the bottom of your picture. What it all boils down to is the finer control of the fuel/air mixture, the power jet is one more step in the process.
