well, as grwrench suggested, I disconnected cold-start sensor & all is ok! no more fuse-blowing. many thanks to grwrench & tx jim for advise & picture. That thing had me going. it would blow fuse as soon as you turned ign. switch on, but I had found a littlefuse 20a breaker that plugged in place of fuse, didn't seem to want to trip it. guess that sensor was trying to break connection as it warmed up. still, couldn't make myself use it with that breaker instead of fuse. again, many thanks to my YT friends!

Wish I would of seen your post earlier. Our 5525 did the same thing a few years back. Good tractors wish we had not upgraded!

It's amazing one didn't find info about failure of cold start sensor on JD utility tractors by Googling because the sensors have been failing since the mid 90's.

I see this happen a lot,, and I keep a sensor here in stock for them,,these poorly made sensors (Probably from China) are what we have to look forward to in the future, in our cars and trucks,,combines and tractors,,it will be like doing battle with a Ghost....

yes, it was out there on google, I just didn't go far enough. first few suggestions were pump solenoid. 'greentractor' had answer, about 3 mo. old. its easier to find afterwards. lol
