JD B best guess on fair price

Looking to sell a 39 B. Totally restored a few years back. New tires, carb, mag. Spoked rear wheels (originals not cutoffs.) $1000 in the engine alone. governor rebuilt by local machine shop. Wondering what fair price would be for it. Has less than 50 hours since restoration. Always kept inside. Any help would be appreciated.

$2000 give or take $250. Sadly, hand cranks are loosing value as well as folks who want them. Post an ad for $2500 and see what happens! You will NEVER get back what you put in.

Be patient and wait..that is a superb JD "B" and if you give them time, the right person will take a liking to it...!!

I would leave the price at least 3K...

I agree with bushogpappa, no less than $3000. Things are slow here but other countries are taking a liking to our 2 cyl JD,s and implements, especially Austrailia. Be patient.

I would agree with all of the replies. Hand cranks may not be as popular as they used to be however if it starts in the first few pulls every time that's a plus. I have a '35 B that starts on the 2nd pull
and a '42 B that starts on the 1st. My '38 A starts when it wants to and I usually pull it. It's true you'll not get out of your B what you have in it. I have not yet had the pleasure of trying to sell one
of these 2 cylinders however I picked up the A on a trade for a '52 B I had. If you are looking for something different you might try marketing as a trade. Other wise $2500-$3000 is probably a good starting
range. If your B starts without hesitation every time it's important to list that in your ad. No one wants a hand crank with a mind of its own. I am looking for another B and hoping to trade the A since the
compression on the A is significantly higher and cranking for any length of time gets tiring. Good luck!

I'm located in Reinbeck, Ia. One other thing I forgot in my original post was that if the '39 B has the 4-speed transmission with the hi/lo that's also important to mention. That raises the ground speed
significantly for tractor rides.
