Hello all-looking for tips on reason for blowing this ign.20 amp fuse--instantly, as soon as you turn on key. Story.--tractor has been operating perfect. finished job few days back, shut down, went to start following AM, blew fuse, blows em fast as you can put them in. look things over good for damaged wires, rats nest, etc. put auto-reset circuit breaker in line, pulled relays, disconnect inj. pump,glo-plug,alt,etc--etc. today I discovered that there seems to be a large current draw when you first turn on switch, than seems to settle down. [will hook up amp gauge tomorrow] although it won't kick my breaker, I won't leave it on long.[homemade 20a 2 stud type with leads]wire seem to get warm @ studs] It dawned on me this PM that maybe sensor, maybe computer? heavy draw when booting up or whatever, than less. any way to confirm? as always, thanks for input.

hello, usually its a temp. sensor on the thermostat housing, its for the cold start pump advance, no glow plugs. just unhook the connector and it will start and run just fine until you get a new sensor.

hi grwrench--I unhooked the cold start harness @ the pump, but didn't try @ sensor. will try tomorrow. thank you!!

Here's a photo of the sensor grwrench referred to. They have a long history of failure.

this was an absolute lifesaver!. Ready to hit the field to rake, no power of any kind. No lights, no ignition. F1 fuse was blown, as listed above. disconnected the cold start sensor, fired right up. Ordered a new one and it will be here this week. Ran great, the hay is raked and ready to bale. Thank you so much!
