A whole lot of hours

Hello all. I finally got down to business on replacing the tach on my 70 lp. The tach hasn't worked since my Dad last used it to plant cotton in 1989. Anyway, I inspected it closely and found that I could still read the total number of hours. I couldn't see how many tenths, but the whole number digits read 16317! Anybody want to post their hour numbers for fun? Hugh

hello, we have a customer with a 2950 tractor, open station with 27,000 hours showing on the hour meter. yousee these meters have an extra digit, so it can read up to 99,999

Are you positive you're not including tenths of an hour in the 27,000???

I suppose I never paid that much attention to utility tractor speed/hour meters. I know for certain that my 4255 rolled over at 10,000 hrs a few yrs ago as it now only has 1400+ hrs showing on it. My neighbor has a 2755 open station so I'll inspect the S/H meter.

Well, maybe the utility tractors have the extra digit because they were.....perish the thought....designed to outlast the Waterloos.....!!
