What is it? What's it worth?

Found this in a farmers back yard. Dont know whether it's a good deal at 300 or not? Missing the clutch and couple small parts. The engine is free and has good compression. Don't know what model it is or what's its worth.

I would probably go at it for $300. Needs a seat and whatever else is might be missing. At least the exhaust has been covered.

Forgot to mention. Good straight sheet, nice straight grill shells, steel wheels, split pedestal. Yea I would go for the 300 especially if you needed parts..

That is a '47-'49 A between the serial numbers of 584,000 and 647,999. Well worth the asking price for a project or for parts. Mike

Grills alone will bring a quick $ 300 so everything else is profit. Gas manifold ($50) , rear stamped steel wheels ($300 , split front pedestal ($ 100- $200) plenty of other parts to add to profit. No carb or mag/distributer. Looks like someones "dream" gone busted for a pulling tractor. Not worth fixing up if you crunch the numbers unless you just want the challenge. It's going to cost you $500 just to get fuel/spark to it to find out what the "real" problems are. They usually "sit" for a reason. "A",s are a dime a dozen so I don't think anyone would hang you for parting it but I would definitly get the money to them and get it out of there fast.

Pauldeere, count the mesh spaces on the grill. B's and H's have 7, but the H has only the muffler on top, while the B has both muffler and air intake. A's and G's have 8 mesh spaces. The muffler and air stack on the A are in-line, while on the G they are side-by-side. Also, the frame on the G bows out to accommodate the larger engine block, while the A does not.
