Well after I went and bored a block .125 over and did the head this passed winter it was getting water in the oil. Never left the shop so took the head off had it pressure tested bought new head gasket thing seemed ok . Well it sat for the summer and I checked the oil drain and got about a thimble of water out so . I figured condensation . Let the kid take it to his house he drove it around on some hay rides I checked it got a half a cup of water ,in a month .
I know it's a 76 year old tractor but it never leaked before . So I'm guessing off with the head and block .anybody have a 39 40 block Close to southeast Mn ?

Kids tractor he might not take that offer lol. Head and block surfaced and second time apart i pressured tested the head . So push rod tubes passed .Head is still at 90 + torque . I put sealer on head studs to .just not looking good for this block .

Also check the gasket surfaces very closely. I had one several years ago that the mill left a wavy surface. It was hard to detect with a straightedge but water seeped out the gasket so I knew where to look. The next machine shop started by just skimming the surface and it showed up clearly every couple inches and only a couple thousandths deep.
