1963 JD 4010 Diesel loader spool valve???

I am putting a Farmhand 258D loader on a 1963 4010 diesel. the loader was previously on a 4020 gas with 2 hydraulic outlets. My 4010 only has one outlet so I wanted to control the loader with a 2 lever spool valve. I bought the Tisco 2 lever non-float spool valve from our local farm & fleet. I have since been told that the 4010 has a closed valve system and I will need a special valve for the spool valve to accommodate the closed system. can anyone here help me with some details or experiences on doing this? Also I wold like to plumb the hydraulics directly from the side of the tractor rather than using the rear outlet to keep that free for other applications. Where do you find the inlet anod outlet for this connection? I know it is located somewhere under the steering column.

This is the valve I bought

Valve you attach to JD 4010 hyd's need to be convertible type from open-center to closed-center type by replacing PBY plug with a CC plug.

Usually the closed center plug has CC stamped on it. If a 4010 is like a 4020 by the brake pedals there is an elbow with a hyd. line to the
3 point, replace it with a tee and connect it to the pressure side of the valve. I drilled and tapped the trans filter housing for the
return line.

Hear are correct labels, & sub. for tee & elbow used for, oil line return from valve, to plumb to rockshaft return line.. ... I think better & safer then tapping filter housing; And 'much' less expensive then buying ported filter bowl...

Really like the part # labels!

Anyone wondering if this works long term...I have been using this set up for 10 plus years now. My / the 4020 in this photo is used moderately in northern Minnesota year round. Road maintenance, logs/ firewood, snow removal..bucket blower. Synchrorange. Even with frequent clutch in use, have not had a problem with oil starvation in this set up.
