Studs in 60 Radiator.....

Having trouble getting the top water pipe casting off the radiator of a J.D. 60. Let me start by saying there are 2 of the 3 studs broken off. Does anyone know if these studs are screwed or pressed in?

Paul, HEAT is your best friend when disassembling a radiator. All the Bolts/cap screws & studs are threaded.
With cast, sometimes Really hot & let cool works with a little candle wax. New GOOD hardware is a Must.

This works every time for me..........all studs were threaded in.

I just replaced a RAD CORE on a JD 620.....most of the CAP screws that attach the caps to the core TWISSED OFF! Not a problem.....I welded a flat washer over every broken stud, then welded a nut on every washer and the Brocken pieces came out very easily

Paul i have a complete 60 radiator that come off of a 60 it is fore the non power steering model if its helps call at 605 270 1844

Screwed in and easy to find, even at "Ace Hardware"..
