4020 steering pull

1968 4020 Wide front end, Gas engine, While driving the tractor a sudden pull to the right, never pulls left . About put me in the ditch. The front end seems tight.

I had a 4020 that did the exact same thing. When I started it up, the wheels would kick to the left and then going down the road it would suddenly jerk left and about take you off the road. I sent it to deere and they thought it was in the front also. I told them it had to be in the steering valve and that's what it ended up being. I'm certain Tim could tell you exactly what's going on with it.

Piston O-rings are worn out and/or blown out in the steering motor . You can prove this by removing the little hose on the top front of the oil cooler. Plug the hole on the oil cooler . Now start the engine and steer back and forth , you will see a few drops of oil come out. If there is more then the O-rings have failed .
