A low houred nice 44552WD w/1600hours w/42in duals sold 4 years ago for $36K and just sold again with 2200 hours for resale at $52K.I know of a 3000 hour 9620 w/new tracks that just sold for $110K. Hours and condition plus there is a good demand for non computerized 150H.P. dual PTO tractors 4440, 4450&55s were still some of the best tractors JD made.

Have a mid hour 4450 that has been bullet proof. I have six tractors, some bigger some smaller than my 4450 but it is my favorite. Looked at buying a newer model but was not impressed with all the EPA crap and the computer upgrades. I understand that the new equipment requires a lot of computer capability to run all the features. Love my new Dodge Cummins dually, but my favorite is still my 99 Dodge Cummins and all that space under the hood. My avatar picture should be a dinosaur. When I go to the dealership and look at the tractors in the shop, rarely see a 4450 but a lot of the newer ones. I got $55K ready if they would build some new 4450 but the law would not Mother Deere to build it.

Deere had rebates back during the 1980's when those were built. I just looked at an old quote for a 4250 from 1984/1985 and going off of that maybe 51,000 for a 4450 2wd Quad Range w/ Sound Guard cab w/ rebate. The rebate listed was 4000 dollars.

One thing he didn't list was that it was a MFWD so I'm sure that helped the sale price also

They must of been overstocked then. That was the time farms and dealers were shutting down.

In 1988 the last year of production . A plain vanilla 4450 sold for $54,000US iirc.
