Castle Nut holding on Clutch driver

I have a 1945 B and am going to clean the clutch mechanisms inside the pulley. The castle nut is on tight onto the crankshaft. If I heat it up, is the nut reusable, or should I get another one?

I have never had to heat this nut in 50 years . Is the clutch driver loose on the crank shaft ? If so it could have striped the threads by pounding on the nut . I cant remember the torque for sure but 100-150 ft. lbs. is about right . Need a bigger wrench ?

I use an impact wrench to remove those. Don't forget to make sure your clutch driver is marked to the v mark on the crank.

Put a good wrench on the nut & wack it with a hammer in the right direction.
Once it moves 1/8 of a turn it will come right off.

I've had an impact wrench remove the most difficut nuts.... just set it on tap - tap - tap, shoot some PB in there, tap - tap - tap, it does the tap - tap tap on all 6 sides of the nut evenly, less chance of damage. and I've had the most stuck-on things come right off.
