620 Right Side Diff Bearing Cover Options

I'm in the process of replacing all of the bearings and seals in the transmission and the PTO on my 620. Found that JD doesn't offer the drive in cover for the right side diff Bearing. Does anyone have any opinions on whether I can reuse it?

I think you are referring to that big soft plug. I see no reason why it can't be reused
if you can get it out in one piece. A person can add some sealer or lock-tite maybe to it.
It keep the 1st reduction house for over fill & keep gear oil at the bearing. I didn't know
the part wasn't available anymore?

Yes that's it. It's not available and Deere has no sub.

They usually knock out in pretty good shape. I don't remember ever needing a new one. I'd put some permetex on it and stick it back in.

This all started with what I thought was going to be a simple PTO rebuild. NOT. Pulled the PTO housing off, every thing was shot. Had a pile of metal shavings in PTO case. Pulled the rockshaft housing, pump and shaft chewed up. Looked and found the bearings on the bevel gears shot. So now its getting every Bearing, seal etc. Just got the front half of the tractor back together. Rebuilt everything from the crankshaft forward. There's no way I'm going to add all the parts tickets up. Prob would have a stroke. Good thing I never see it being sold. I hope to pull the diff the pm. Just wanted a lil info on whether it's pretty common to reuse that plug. Hopefully I don't have any issues. The left Bearing on the bevel gear shaft sure gave me a fit. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like all my projects. If you look you find a lot of problems. I just finally ended up completely disassembling every one of my tractors I was going to keep and went thru them. I quit restoring them because I was just too fussy and too broke to do it.
