IT is a MODERN plate with bar code and it says DUPLICATE, whether it is accurate or not is a guess. Depends on info the person had that requested the duplicate!

IT IS NOT ORIGINAL.

1956- 320001
1957- 321220
1958- 325127
Don't know that original tag ever designated 320S.
Probably whoever (apparently McGrew) applied for the tag designated 320S.

thanks, it certainly doesn't follow any original 320 sequence thats for sure, how they come up with 71473 ?? i don't know.

Deere never made that many 320's-something amiss on this number. Look on the right side of the engine in front part of block and you should find a serial number. This number sounds like a JD 40 serial number(meaning the block has been changed). Deere uses the number off the block on a retag unit. This would explain the number in my opinion. Should have used the original JD 320 number, but that's not the one on the block. My opinion.

I have a 330 that has a duplicate tag but it is the same as the original. The owner went through deere to get it. The engine SN was used to authenicate it.

Someone went through all the right hoops to get the tag from Deere. You would have thought they would have looked at the number and realized Deere had made a mistake and had it corrected. I doubt a new buyer would have any luck getting a correct numbered tag now. I would treat it as a no serial plate tractor since the number on it is worthless.

BTW, I'm surprised the seller whose logo is there allowed this to happen.
