what year did these 6-2 power blocks fit? I think I may have screwed up I was hopeing to use it in a 51 late a but have recently been told it will only fit 47-49 if that's so is there a way to make it work ? thanks in advance

A 6-2 power block will fit '47-'50 A's S/N range 584,000-647,999. In layman's terms pressed steel frame with 2 shift levers. It will NOT bolt into a Late A with single stick shifter (creeper gear). A 6-2 has 6 block-crankcase bolts, and the creeper gear A that you have uses 8 bolts. You need a 6-3 Power block.

here's the picture of the rear bolt patterns of the 3 different power block bolt patterns. From left to right are 6-1 (fits unstyled thru 1947 (583,999), 6-2 (fits 1947-1950, 584,000-647,999), and 6-3 (fits 1950-1952 (648,000and up plus 60)
