Eisemann magneto question

I've got an Eisemann mag model AM-2N on my D, I wasn't getting any spark so I took it apart and cleaned it up, when I unhooked the wire (solid) from the coil to the condenser the eyelet broke off, I've been told to solder on a piece of wire but I found there is another wire (braided) I'm not sure that may have been in the eyelet too, should I solder both of them together into the eyelet or is the braided wire not used??

I've seen the double connection as suggested but never for the coil to condenser wire. Braided wire typically is used to ground the plate that the points are installed on. At the other end of the braided wire I often see another solid wire doubled into that terminal and that one would be the ground wire for the coil's primary windings. Look closer and you may find another terminal (ground) that the braided wire broke off of?

Solid wire for the coil to condenser wire will break off at the terminal as you already know. More modern styling is to splice on a section of regular insulated stranded wire so that it takes any bending done as points and condenser are installed and doesn't fatigue in that use there.

On this mag the coil wire hooks onto the top of the condenser and then another wire goes loops around from the top of the condenser to the points.

There is a ground wire that still is in good shape and still has the eyelet on it, I'll try get a picture of it tomorrow if I get a chance.
