I just inherited a John Deere 2010. I brought it home yesterday and it is low on hydraulic fluid. The book I have said it uses type 303 special oil. I have looked it up on the john deere dealers's web site but there is no listing there. Have they changed it or just didn't see it.
Thanks

Type 303 Oil is for older New Generation tractors. The newer ones, 30 Series and up use HyGuard or J20 lubricants. Your tractor does not have wet brakes so, you probably don't need the best of oils. Anything meeting 303 specs will be good

As stated, there are no wet brakes and no power shift packs. Go to Tractor Supply Co. and get the $35.00 bucket of universal hydraulic oil.
