CCA Field Cultivator; when made?

Need some info on a JD CCA Field Cultivator. My friend has a 10 ft, mechanical lift. Serial number is 5712.

Anyone who can figure out what year it was made?

I've had two or three of the cultivators and many original manuals. They made these from the early '40,s through late '50,s. Early ones didn't have hyd. lift and as far as I have seen there is no way to identify year. The pics below show mfg. in 1957. That's probably the year "that" one they photographed for the manual was mfg. They had hyd lift before '57. I have yet to know of any way to positively identify year. I have original manuals and original color dealer brochures for them if your friend wants. e-mail is open.

Thanks for your input. The mechanical lift models must have been made in the late 1940s or early 1950s if they had hydraulics before 1957.
I'll check with my friend if he is interested in the manual.

In my area it seems like most farms had at least one CC cultivator. I have 2, one I bought for parts, both on steel wheels with the old rope pull lift. good cultivators

Does anybody have an idea what a 14' John Deere CCA cultivator with hydraulic lift weighs?
