Unstyled 6 speed B

So I have an odd question. I have always wanted an unstyled B for parades, tractor drives, etc... I picked one up in fairly rough condition with plans to repair/restore. It is a '37. It needs everything. I also just picked up a '43 B very cheap basically buying it for the like new tires all the way around. However, I am pleased to see it runs/works great. Since an unstyled B travels so slow and the one I own is so rough, I am wondering if I can combine the two. Bascically wondering if I can put unstyled front frame, pedestal, radiator, hood, etc.. on '43 rear end and engine. I am not concerned if I need to fab some brackets to support unstyled hood and such, just wondering if frame fits. In the end, I would save myself a ton of money since one already runs and works, it would travel fast enough to actually be able to use it for what I want, and it would have the look of an unstyled. By the way, the tin on the '43 is pretty rough. I would appreciate any thoughts, comments, experience, etc...

Thanks!

There was a fellow who did that to an A a while back, I don't remember his name (or handle) but it turned out very nice I thought.

I did that with two A about 8 years ago and it was a fun project and fun to play with plus drove correct police nuts. I posted pics here when Ken was doing his. I would think procedure to do a B would be about the same.

A model B should be tougher to do than an A as less of the B stuff interchanges. A cutting torch and a welder anything is possible !

Big question is does anyone know if the front part of the '37 frame bolts exactly to the '43 right their by the crank....the 4 bolts on bottom and couple on the sides?? The cosmetic stuff is minor...that connection could get much more complicated. Thank you and thanks for the replies thus far!

I'm curious about this too. I've been wanting to make a 6 speed unstyled B for awhile now and have been hanging on to a 35 B front end for just this purpose...

I have done this build myself. I had a long hood b john deere and a junk unstyled 38 b. I took the sheet metal, front pedestal, and frame off them and swapped around. you have to swap the frame rails because the pedestal bolt pattern is different. the unstyled frame will bolt right up to the styled tractor and then start bolting up. make sure you have a long hood unstyled b because of the frame length. I made a puller out of mine, but it worked out good for me.
